The biannual Interior, the urban implementations of Bernardo Secchi, bOb van Reeth's project to pep up the banks of the Leie, and the contemporary palace of justice by Stéphane Beel and Alain Bossuyt are all manifestations of Kortrijk, the design city. Famous architects from Flanders and abroad are active here.

The brochure ‘Kortrijk, City of Architecture and Design' offers a short overview of the most exciting building projects, as well as a folder to help you discover the city from a new perspective. This brochure is available from Kortrijk Tourism for €1.5.

Designregio Kortrijk is a partnership between the city of Kortrijk, Voka (Chamber of Commerce of West Flanders), the inter-municipal development agency Leiedal, the Interieur Foundation and the PIH Department of West Flanders University College. By working together these partners build on their strengths in the field of design. One objective is to enhance and promote the city's profile.

Designregio Kortrijk nurtures the industrial design culture of the region both in education and the public sector. Designregio Kortrijk organises activities such as the annual Design Week in June. Kortrijk is also a partner in ADMIRE, an EU project that stimulates good design management in small- and medium-sized companies, as well as in regional governments and cities.
